Youth held for sodomy

A 19-year-old youth has been

arrested for allegedly sodomising a boy at a slum in Ulhasnagar town in the district, police said today.

The accused Rahul alias Chhotu Nishad, a resident of Hira Ghat slum colony in Ulhasnagar, was arrested for the crime that took place yesterday.

"The accused dragged the boy, who lived in the same locality, to his house when the latter was playing outside his house and then sodomised him," police sub-inspector S B Khamkar of Central Police station said.

The victim's mother later lodged a complaint, following which the accused, who is unemployed, was arrested.

He has been booked under sections 363 (kidnapping), 342 (wrongful confinement), 377 (unnatural sexual offence), 506 (criminal intimidation) of the IPC and sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act 2012.
