Press Trust of India New Delhi
Zinc prices advanced by 0.36 per cent to Rs 167.40 per kg in futures market today as traders created fresh positions following rising demand from consuming industries in the spot market.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc for delivery in June moved up by 60 paise, or 0.36 per cent to Rs 167.40 per kg in business turnover of 21 lots.

Likewise, the metal for delivery in May contracts was up by 35 paise, or 0.21 per cent to Rs 166.70 per kg in 3,067 lots.

Analysts said widening of positions by speculators on the back of rising demand from consuming industries in the spot market, mainly kept up zinc prices at futures trade.
