Zinc prices fell 0.21 per cent to Rs 213.15 per kg in futures market today as speculators trimmed holdings, taking weak cues from the spot market due to sluggish demand from consuming industries.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc for delivery in April declined by 45 paise, or 0.21 per cent to Rs 213.15 per kg in business turnover of 170 lots.

Likewise, the metal for delivery in March contracts was trading lower by 40 paise, or 0.19 per cent to Rs 213.55 per kg in 553 lots.

Marketmen said offloading of positions by participants owing to muted demand from consuming industries in the physical market mainly weighed on zinc prices at futures trade.
