Zinc prices moved down 0.88% to Rs 112.30 per kg in futures market today as speculators reduced their positions, in tandem with a weak global trend.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc for delivery in March dropped by a Re, or 0.88%, to Rs 112.30 per kg, in a business turnover of two lots.
Likewise, the metal for delivery in February traded lower by 95 paise, or 0.84%, to Rs 111.65 per kg, in a business turnover of 365 lots.
Marketmen said weakness in the base metals pack at the London Metal Exchange (LME) as concerns over slowing demand in China dominated trading, mainly weighed on zinc prices in futures trade.
