Chrysler Sets Output Cut Target

Chrysler Corp said Wednesday it has scheduled production of 585,900 cars and trucks worldwide during the third quarter, down 7.1 per cent from the a year earlier due to model changeovers and slower car sales. Chrysler also said it is reducing its latest second quarter production plan by 7,000 cars from estimates released a month ago. Chrysler now plans to build a total of 711,500 cars and trucks, including 473,500 cars and 238,000 trucks.
