Strategy:Emphasis on developing and re-selling products and implementing them with changes at multiple customer locations.
RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT
Current status: Spends 6 per cent of turnover on research, has staff of 200 at Hyderabad

Research on pervasive technologies (net enabling) for all CMC products and services

Current status :Links 10 cities. Being upgraded to 64 KBPS and a VSAT back-up

Strategy :Host users' networked applications like reservation systems, payments to utilities and credit card authorisation services
Applications will be developed and maintained by CMC.Exploring the possibility of offering Web-based services
