Dull Trade Pulls Scrips Down

A dull day at the Calcutta Stock Exchange (CSE) ended with the CSE-40 index falling marginally to 1905.86 points from its previous close of 1913.90 points. Some two crore shares were traded in the day.

Zee Telefilms, Himachal Futuristic Communications Ltd (HFCL), Satyam Computer, DSQ Software, Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL), Global-Telesystems, ITC and Tisco were the most traded scrips on the bourse. Except ITC and RIL, all these scrips advanced.

Global-Telesystem advanced 10.84 per cent to close at Rs 985.20 (previous close Rs 808.90), HFCL was up Rs 73 (10.65 per cent) to close at Rs 751, while Zee, Satyam and DSQ made moderate gains in terms of percentage.

 

Zee was up 4.38 per cent (Rs 22) to close at Rs 519.50, Satyam gained 3.54 per cent (Rs 102) to close at Rs 2985.40, and DSQ advanced Rs 20 (3.33 per cent) to close at Rs 624.10.

While Tisco gained Rs 7 to reach Rs 111.90 at close, ITC lost Rs 11 to close at Rs 605.40, and RIL was down Rs 8 to close at Rs 309.80. Fast moving consumer goods major HLL was a gainer. It advanced Rs 48 to close at Rs 2,358.50 (previous close Rs 2,310).
