Kapol Bank has opened a new branch in Vile Parls, Mumbai. This is the tenth branch of the bank. It has plans to open four more branches within the next six months. The new branch was inaugurated by Vilasrao Deshmukh, chief minister of Maharashtra.

Standard Chartered has announced the opening of its new branch in Ahmedabad. The branch will offer tha full range of retail banking service including 24-hour ATMs, priority banking, credit cards and business-plus accounts.

Gruh Finance has posted a net profit of Rs 4.29 crore for the financial year 1999-2000, an increase of 27 per cent from the previous year's figure of Rs 1.08 crore. Income from operations has noved up to Rs 64.95 crore (Rs 54.59 crore), an increase of 19 per cent.
