Floppy Backup With Green Applications

All applications submitted to the Union environment and forests ministry for environmental clearance are now required to be accompanied with a three-and-a- half inch floppy containing the duplicate information given in the application form.

The computer floppy will also contain the environmental impact assessment report, environmental management plan and the risk analyst report. It would likewise reproduce the filled-in questionnaire concerning the project but the information given should be self-contained and should not refer to any other document, an official release said.

The release said if applications are not accompanied with floppies containing the required information, the applications will not be accepted for processing. Also, if the information furnished is not complete, the proposal will not be taken up for consideration.
