Global, Psi, 1414c In Web Video Pact

Global VideoCom Group, PSINet and 1414c, a wholly owned subsidiary of Picture Tel Corporation, announced an alliance to provide video-on-the-Net, a Web based video conferencing service. Under the alliance, Global VideoCom integrates 1414c's conferencing application to provide the service, which uses PSINet's hosting centres and network.

Video-on-the,net will enable companies to host multi-user video confernces using high speed Internet protocol net works.

It is available through Global VideoCom to existing PSINet netowkr cliens, subject to a site survey. The service is available to other customers within 60 days of receipt of order. The service is priced on a fixed annual fee, rather than a per minute call rate, which according to a company statement will provide significant savings over current telecommunication charges.
