Groundnut Oil Firm, Gold Up

In futures, castor seeds September contract remained untraded during the sesson,while December contract opened lower and eased further towards closing.

Groundnut oil looked up further by Rs 2 at Rs 435 per 10 kg on improved festival demand coupled with restricted arrivals from the producing centres.

Arrivals were about 80 truck-loads

In other oils, sesame jumped by Rs 10 per 10 kg at Rs 325 on paucity of ready stock and better industrial demand.

Mowra looked up by Rs 5 to Rs 280 per 10 kg. on better offtake. Soyabean oil refined declined sharply by Rs 7 at Rs 318 per 10 kg on slack industrial demand. Rapeseed oil refined eased by Rs 2 at Rs 320 per 10 kg.

 

(In the Indore market, soybean prices were strong due to poor availability, but soyoil prices were steady in thin trading, Reuter reports.)

Imported palmolein eased by Re 1 at Rs 285 per 10 kg on subdued offtrake.

Meanwhile,other oils like linseed, kardi,cottonseed, and copra was overall steady on narrow movements.

In futures, castorseed Sept contract remained untraded. Dec contract opened Rs 2 lower at Rs.1142 and moved up to Rs 1,148.50. It declined and closed at Rs 1,140.

Other oilseeds ruled overall steady on narrow movements and prices remained unchanged.

An easy to downward trend was noticed at the wholesale sugar market.

The demand remained at low ebb and the arrivals remained brisk.

Sugar S-30 grade eased from the previous level of Rs 1,358/1,395 to Rs 1,355/1,388 per quintal.

Sugar M-30 grade was quoted at Rs 1,385/1,430 against the previous level of Rs.1,385/1,425 on dull demand. Sugar prices for check-post deliveries were also quoted low at Rs.1,329/1,350 a quintal for Small and Rs 1,350/1,397 for medium grades.

Gold biscuits and gold 22 carat showed an upward trend while standard gold and silver ruled easy to downward in the local bullion market.

In white metals, silver.999 and .916 eased by Rs 10 at Rs 7,300 and Rs 7,200 per kg. respectively on reduced industrial demand coupled with improved arrivals.

Delhi advices also indicated easy trend.

In yellow metals, standard gold ruled overall steady at Rs 5,175 per 10 grams on subdued demand

But 22 carat hardened by Rs 20 at Rs 4,785 per 10 grams on improved demand.

Gold biscuits prices firmed up by Rs 100 at Rs 60,600 per piece of 10 tolas on better demand .

A steady to easy trend was noticed in the local non-ferrous market.

Prices in both the sections ruled overall steady without any movements.

Industrial demand remained slack at higher level. The trade volume remained restricted.

In virgin section, copper wirebars were quoted at Rs 123, aluminium ingots at Rs 74.50, zinc slabs at Rs 64, lead ingots at Rs 49, tin slabs at Rs 360 and nickel cathodes at Rs 395 per kg respectively.

In scraps, copper heavy scraps quoted at Rs 118, copper utensils, Rs 104.50, brass utensils, Rs 87.50, brass sheetcuttings, Rs 93 and aluminium utensils at Rs 58.50 per kg respectively.
