INCAL'98 organised by the Aluminium association of India, is an international conference with " Aluminium The eco friendly metal of the 21st century" as its theme. The conference which will be attended by about 900 participants, intends to provide a clear insight into the current market trends and prospects of the aluminium industry.
This will be inaugurated by the Lt. Governor of Delhi , Shri Tejendra Khanna on 11 February. Renowned experts both international as well as international from industry, R&D organisations and academic institutions, government officials and policy makers will congregate here and explore the immense possibilities of aluminium.

The technical deliberations will cover all aspects of aluminium fabrication technology and its newer applications with greater emphasis on the environment friendliness of aluminium.
The aluminium industry is one of the fastest growing industries in the world. India, in particular, has witnessed continued growth in this sector during the last decade. The demand for aluminium is increasing at the rate of 8 per cent annually. With the fifth largest bauxite reserves in the world, India aims at becoming a global player in the 21st century. The government f India has already initiated many economic liberalisation measures with increased emphasis on aluminium industry in all its aspects, its performance, problems and prospects, threats and opportunities, and planning approximately to achieve the much desired growth.
INCAL98 will provide an added impetus to the high growth Indian aluminium industry, by providing a window on the latest developments in the field of this versatile metal. The broadest areas to be covered during INCAL' 98 are : automobiles, transportation, building and construction, infrastructure development, packaging, defence applications, power, processing techniques, environmental issue, recycling, market scenario etc.
First INCAL was held in 1985 in New Delhi and the second was in 1991 at Bangalore. These were organised with a objective of emphasising on mutual corporation on industry for exchange of knowledge and improvement of process and technology to meet the global challenges. It is also aimed to help, popularise aluminium consumption and to meet other associations to have man to man contact to understand the pulse of the other countries.
An international exposition on aluminium is being organised concurrently with INCAL'98. The exposition will be held for four days from 11th to 14th February at Hotel Ashok, New Delhi.
It will provide an excellent opportunity for manufacturers and suppliers to display their latest products, process and equipment. The exposition will also be an ideal forum for interaction between leading experts and technocrats of the aluminium industry from all over the world.
Extensive participation's expected from producers of the metal, manufacturers of semi-finished and finished products, raw material suppliers, consultants, providers of technology, joint venture partners and investors. Further the exposition will be visited by policy makers, leaders of the industry and seekers of innovative technologies thus providing an appropriate platform for the promotion of aluminium as a metal of the 21st century.
