Ipcl Restarts Plants At Gandhar Complex

Indian Petrochemicals Corporation has gradually restarted its plants at the Gandhar complex, which were shut down on September 27 following a fire at the ethylene fractionation column. In a press release, IPCL has stated that the "caustic soda and PVC plants were restarted in the morning. The HDPE plant is being restarted. The new 1 lakh tonne per annum ethylene glycol plant will be commissioned shortly." The fire broke when the corporation was pre-commissioning gas cracker at its complex. The release states that "the fire has been completely extinguished. The team from IPCL with the help of Stone & Webster (process licensor), Engineers India (engineering contractor) and L&T (equipment fabricator) is assessing the damage to the column."
