Unless the statements are later backed with evidence, any allegations made to the judge at this point will not be part of the actual trial in front of a jury, and will simply disappear from the case.
That is because the case is at an interesting stage called the discovery period.
In the American legal system, discovery is a pre-trial process where the judge, after receiving the initial complaint and answer, listens to both sides in an effort to fine-tune the issues.It is also a stage when both parties attempt to gather all the evidence necessary for their cases, with the help of the court.
