Japan Pm Seeks Deeper Ties With India

Japanese Prime Minister Ryutaro Hashimoto has stressed the need for Japan and India to take full advantage of Indias high level engineering skill. Speaking to an Indian business delegation here on Monday, Hashimoto said Indias industrial strength lay in its high level of engineering skill, which could be fully used by both the countries. The Indian delegation was led by Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) president N Kumar

Kumar quoted the Japanese premier as saying that he was happy to know about the surging Indo-Japanese economic cooperation.

Hashimoto suggested that India should think of investing in Japan. India has a trade surplus with Japan which could be considered an advantage in this context, he pointed out.
