Mobilink Plan To Expand Reach

At present, the paging network offers its multi-city services to 10 major cities and has a project investment of over Rs 100 crore.

At a seminar held at the Taj Bengal in Calcutta, Mobilink explained that the consumer would benefit by a 98 per cent reduction in communication costs and a 65 per cent reduction in STD bills. The multi-city paging facility being offered by Mobilink, linking the user through a single frequency to as many as 10 cities, is expected to pick up a market share of approximately 40 per cent.

At present Delhi, Mumbai, Calcutta, Madras, Bangalore, Pune, Ahmedabad, Lucknow, Kanpur and Hyderabad are the cities which are Mobilinked.

 

Mobilink will not make any investments in alliances and plans may include diversification.
