New Bse Group For Renounced Rights

BSCAL

The BSE now has five groups of securities -- A, B1, B2, F (launched yesterday) and odd lots. The new groups will take the number to seven.

The bourse had originally planned to include trading in PSU bonds and government securities in the F (fixed-income securities) group. However, it has been now decided to put them in a new group, christened G (for government securities).

Creating a separate group for these stocks could generate interest and prop up turnover," BSE sources pointed out. Renounced rights stocks are now present in all the three major groups on the bourse -- A, B1 and B2. Exchange officials are said to be in the process of sorting out the securities which fall in this group.

A separate settlement cycle will be formulated for these stocks.
