Sbi Falls Sharply

The State Bank of India lost Rs 9 over the day, on heavy selling pressure. The scrip alone recorded a traded volume of over Rs 100 crore, close to the announcement of the listing price of the bank's GDR issue. The Delhi Stock Exchange Index fell by 3.75 points, to close the day at 715.99 points.
SBI, which opened the day at Rs 250.05, recorded a high of Rs 253.35, but then fell sharply to touch a low of Rs 239, before closing at Rs 241.40.
A whopping Rs 106 crore worth of trades were carried out in the scrip during the day, leaving Reliance way behind at Rs 22.68 crore.
Reliance opened at Rs 192.50 and after touching a low of Rs 188.90, closed at Rs 191.05. Tisco too saw little movement, as SBI hogged the limelight. The scrip which opened at Rs 173.25, touched a high of Rs 177.90, before closing at Rs 172.70.
