Which brings me to Mr Rao and his reluctance to give up office. The election of Mr Sitaram Kesri is surely a sign that, as of last Monday at least, Mr Rao was hoping to take that office back from his puppet. What other reason could there be to elect someone who has no charisma and no proven record of leadership? But why, for example, has Mr Rao not resigned his leadership of the Congress Parliamentary Party? How many pending cases, how many allegations, how many embarrassing revelations does it take for our leaders to step down or for their followers to pluck up courage and say `enough is enough?
