Upward Trend On

The Delhi Stock Exchange Index continued its upward journey for the second day, shooting up another 26.06 points yesterday to close at 751.75 points.
The pivotals recorded hefty gains as the exchange witnessed a turnover of Rs 220 crore, with SBI leading the way with Rs 101 crore. SBI opened at Rs 229.85 and gained Rs 12 over the day to close at Rs 241.50. Reliance too, recorded a significant gain of Rs 7. Opening at Rs 208.30, the scrip closed at Rs 215.45.
ITC gained Rs 14 after opening at Rs 308.75. It finally closed at Rs 322.25. Tisco gained Rs 16 over the day. After opening at Rs 175.75, the scrip touched a high of Rs 192 before closing at Rs 191.60. Ranbaxy Lab gained Rs 23, closing the day at Rs 640, after opening at Rs 617.
Trading on the DSE continued despite a countrywide strike by one million workforce of postal and telecom employees.
