Us Fighter Cripples Iraqi Radar Site

In another incident, Iraqi MiGs flew south toward US warplanes patrolling the no-fly zone but turned away before crossing the 33rd parallel, the new northern limit of the zone enforced by allied warplanes, defence secretary William Perry said.

The radar site, part of an SA-8 anti-aircraft missile system, was north of the 33rd parallel, but Perry said US rules of engagement allowed pilots to fire back when illuminated by hostile radar.

The haven is no more
