Unit Trust of India (UTI) has opened its fourth franchise office at in West bengal at Bolpur. UTI has a significant investor base in the state which is serviced by three branches at Calcutta, Siliguri and Durgapur and franchise offices at Midnapore, Malda and Cooch Behar. Sales from West Bengal stands around 9 per cent of the all India figure. In addition, the state holds "tremendous" potential for investment in the trust in the eastern zone, said the UTI executive director B G Daga while inaugurating the Birbhum office.
