Airtel to widen Karnataka coverage

Airtel has announced plans to open three new Airtel points in Bhadravati, Sagar and Kumta and seven pre-paid shoppes in Mangalore, Mysore and Hassan over the next two-three weeks.
 
Rohit Malhotra, vice-president, sales and marketing, Bharti Cellular Ltd, Karnataka, announced here that Airtel has commenced its services in 10 towns in South Karnataka over the last 50 days. These towns are Shirva, Manchakal, Yelandur, Pollibetta, Napokulu, Nagamangala, Navunda, Hosanagara, K R Sagar and Somnathpur.
 
"We are now the largest network in Karnataka covering 230 towns. We are now increasingly focusing on service initiatives which will further delight our customers," he said.
 
Airtel has over 1.09 million customers in Karnataka circle. To service such a large customer base, Airtel has deployed 797 cell sites across the state including the 152 cell sites now in south Karnataka.
