| Addressing a press conference, Pieter Humphrey, senior product marketing manager, BEA Systems Inc, said; "While the open source community has developed many different solutions to address the complexities like integration testing and platform migration, BEA's blended application development products and services will enable enterprises to build the best solutions for their requirements." |
| He added that the BEA's blended model offered advantanges in functionality, performance, management, flexibility, reliability, scalability to open source software, besides flexibility and choice. |
| Of the 15,000 customers globally, about 80 per cent of BEA Systems' customers were using one or more open source frameworks, he said, adding that in the last few years, open source had been in the limelight. |
| As part of its fourth annual Dev2Dev Days seminar series, the company today held a one-day seminar in Chennai to provide a forum for developers and others in the industry to share the latest technology information and best practices in open source development technologies. About 500 developers from Chennai participated in the seminar. |
| This year's seminar, which would be held globally, and in other cities in India like Bangalore, Hyderabad and Mumbai, will focus on blending commercial software and open source frameworks. |
