| Seven months after a call centre employee, Pratibha Srikantamurthy, was allegedly murdered by a cab driver, another BPO employee Tanya Bannerji (32 years old) from Kolkata was found dead under mysterious circumstances on the Hassan-Mangalore National Highway 48, about 180 km from Bangalore. The police have picked her colleague, Kishore Gururaj (26 years old), who reportedly dropped her home on Tuesday night, for questioning. Tanya, staying at a PG accommodation in Frazer Town, was employed as an accident claims analyst at Aviva, Bangalore. Her body, bearing multiple stab injuries, was found by the road side by the Sakleshpura police on Wednesday morning. According to the police, Tanya completed her work at 9 pm on Tuesday. However, she did not take the office cab. She left office with in colleague Kishore Gururaj's car. "He claims to have dropped her home around 10:30 pm. But we found that Tanya had sent an SMS to her PG accommodation mate that she is leaving for Kolkatta to celebrate her birthday. But, she never turned up at the residence. We suspect foul play and are questioning Kishore," the police stated. The police say preliminary investigations are on. "Whether she was molested can be established only after conducting autopsy.
