CE Info Systems, a Delhi-based digital map data and consumer navigation services company, on Thursday launched its in-car GPS (global positioning system) navigation device – MapmyIndia Navigator – in 21 cities of Andhra Pradesh.
The satellite-connected handheld device, pre-loaded with detailed maps of 202 cities including important cities in the state like Hyderabad, Secunderabad, Visakhapatnam, Vijayawada and Tirupati, comes in two hardware models. While Amax 200 is priced at Rs 17,990, the high-end version Nav 200 is at Rs 20,999.
Addressing mediapersons here, CE Info Systems’ vice-president (sales and marketing), Rajesh Mehta, said the company had tied up with automobile manufacturers like General Motors and Ford, besides consumer electronics retail chains and outlets to penetrate the in-car GPS market in the country, which is currently pegged at 450,000 units.
“We are aiming at selling 10,000 units in the next one year,” he added.
MapmyIndia has 450,000 points of interest across 52 categories including restaurants, ATM centres and hotels, reaching 640,000 destinations across India.
