Citrix, the $800 million US-based firm which provides solutions to speed up access to applications, has said it is enhancing its offerings post the recent acquisition of NetScaler.

Citrix had acquired NetScaler, founded by Indian-American serial entrepreneur B V Jagadeesh, for $300 million in cash and stock deal in August 2005.

Said Mark Templeton, president & CEO, Citrix: "With the acquisition, we are extending our access experience value to the range of web-based application, including enterprise, browser-based, XML web services and others. This acquisition strengthens our customer value proposition by offering a complementary delivery solution through our access platform. The technologies that NetScaler has developed will enhance our portfolio by improving application security, manageability, reliability and availability of any web application."

The acquisition of NetScaler gives Citrix access to 75 professionals in India and it will continue to invest in the integration of India sales and marketing teams.

"The integration is focussed on synergising channel partner strengths and educating partners to effectively provide customers a larger solution set. The India sales integration plans include a phased approach, scheduled for completion in the next two quarters," Templeton added.
