Hutch launches mobile shop in Kochi

BS Reporter Chennai/ Kochi
Hutch, a leading telecom service provider, launched its new innovative service initiative, 'Mobile Hutch Shop' here today.

Announcing the launch of the new service, Samuel Selvakumar, director (operations) said that the mobile shop would provide all the services of a regular Hutch shop, like activation of pre-paid and post-paid connections, sale of prepaid SIM cards and re-charge coupons, bill payment and change of tariff plan.

Hutch will introduce a similar service in Kozhikode and Thiruvananthapuram soon. The mobile shop that works on a GPRS-enabled technology will have three service desks and an 'experience zone' to cater to various needs of the customers.

It is for the first time in Kerala that a telecom service provider has introduced a mobile service facility on wheels.

Selvakumar said that the van would travel through a pre-set route, which would be informed to the customers through SMS and separate notices.

Hutch also plans to open more regular Hutch shops in Kerala as the network of the company covers 550 towns in the state.
