Kolkata-based Institute of Computer Accountants (ICA) plans to train 400 students across its eight centres in Orissa for its newly launched course-BCom (Financeand Investment).
The institute is offering this course in collaboration with Chennai-based Annamalai University.
Talking to reporters at the launch of the new course, Unmaya Padhi, general manager-sales (east), ICA said, “The new course would be offered at eight out of the 10 ICA centres in Orissa including two centres each in Bhubaneswar and Rourkela and one centre each in Cuttack, Balasore, Berhampur and Sambalpur. Each centre would have an intake of 50 students for the new course.”
The duration of the course would be three years and it would consist of 15 modules. ICA would provide an on the job training and stipend to the students during the second and the third year of the course which is to be offered through the distance learning mode.
The students enrolled in the course can appear examinations at any of the specified examination centres of Annamalai University across the country. The institute would offer a stipend of Rs 1,500-2,000 per month to the students during the second year and Rs 2,500-3,000 during the second year.

“The new course combines the features of vocational and degree courses and has an industry relevant syllabus. The course will offer two certifications and on completion of the course, the students will be eligible for jobs of the Central and the state government”, said CP Ashok, programme director of the course.
The entire course fee stands at Rs 85,000 which includes Rs 22,000 charged by the Annamalai University for the three-year programme.
ICA which has a presence in Orissa for the past seven years has about 3,500 students in its 10 centres in the state. On a pan-India basis, the institute has 350 centres throughput the country.
