Vincent Peña, regional managing director (emerging markets and India) for Jabra, is as gadget-savvy as one can get. He changes his handset every five months, laptop every 18 months, and is constantly on the lookout for iPod upgrades.

What is the next gadget on your must-buy list?

I am currently using a BlackBerry which, I feel, I need to change, but I am waiting for a mobile device that takes care of my three needs "" computing, music and television. In my perspective we are yet to see one such device that can deliver all three.

If you could build one, what kind of dream gadget would you go for?

Given the fact that I travel literally three days in a week across continents, I would like to build a tele-portation device, similar to what we have seen in Star Trek. Then I too could say "Beam me up, Scotty!"

If you have to survive a day without your favourite gadget, how would you?

I would like to shut myself in a room and read books.

Which one of your gadgets was a complete waste of money?

I bought a weather forecasting kit, but till date I am yet to ascertain what to do with it. After all, the fact is that I live in a town and don't really require it.

Name one wacky gadget that you had fun experimenting with.

It has to be an iPod and that too with podcasting and bluecasting. Also, the Microsoft flight simulator game is really cool. When you put yourself in a surround sound-equipped studio room with a large screen and play this game, you are actually living it.

If you could, whose computer would you hack into?

I really don't have a need to hack into anyone else's computer. Just think of how much a person stands to lose with a hard disk crashing!

Can you unwind with the help of your gadgets?

Yes, to a certain extent, for instance with some good music heard on my Bang & Olufsen music system.

Your costliest contraption, to date, would be...

My costliest contraption is really my AV room at my house. It has a Jamo's Surround Sound System (Wi-fi), a Sony Bravia and a Bang & Olufsen music player. All of these are integrated, and a cinematic and theatre experience is available right within the comforts of my home. My next addition would be a Bang & Olufsen piano.
