Lenovo India to target 20 cities in MP

Lenovo (India) Private Limited is all set to tap the fast-growing desktop and notebooks market in Indore. To that end, the company has set a target for 100 per cent growth for this fiscal. This is a part of the company's plan to cover 20 cities in Madhya Pradesh in next two months.
 
It will also launch a series of products exclusively for the home segment and small businesses for the non-metro cities. Lenovo's country manager for non-metro business, Shantanu Verma who was in Indore recently spoke about Lenovo's strategy towards the new emerging markets of non-metro cities.
 
He said that Lenovo would focus on increasing the breadth coverage by initiating the presence in more number of cities and through the launch of products exclusively to address the home markets.
 
Verma said that the company launched their P4 desktop beginning at Rs 25,000 and they have also launched Centrino notebook at Rs 42,500, adding, the company would soon launch its consumer PCs with a series of value additions desired by the home customers.
 
He said that the company would launch more Thinkpad repair centres, in the lines of the one in the city.
 
Apart from this, they have also appointed sales agents in different cities and also business partners.
 
The company has increased its promotional and awareness activities like advertising, hoardings and customer road shows which doubled sales of notebooks. Apart from the home users there is growing demand for their products among the educational institutions like the management schools including IIM, Indore.
