Mumbai to host IIT alumni global conference

The IIT Alumni 2006 Global Conference is scheduled to be held in Mumbai from December 23-25, 2006. The conference was held in Washington last year.
 
Addressing mediapersons, Ashank Desai, co-chairman of PanIIT-2006, said, "The theme of the conference is 'Inspire IITians to involve and transform India'. We expect to have participation from 4,000-5,000 people for this event."
 
PanIIT is a global association of alumni from all the seven IITs.
 
Some of the segments for the conference this year include how to make India a knowledge economy, global branding of India, how to improve the standard of living index and what you can learn from successful entrepreneurs.
 
An interactive session with Sri Sri Ravishankar of the 'Art of Living' fame will also be organised.
 
A few key speakers at the previous events have been President APJ Abdul Kalam, Sunit Mittal, chairman of Bharti group, and Rajat Gupta, senior partner of McKinsey and Co.
 
"We expect participation from the president of India this year as well," Desai said.
