Omnitech buys Dutch firm for $40 cr

Omnitech Infosolutions, a business availability and business continuity services provider, annouced the acquisition of Avensus Netherland BV for $9 million (Rs 40 crore).

Omnitech will pay $4.8 mn (Rs 21.5 crore) now and the rest will be paid over three years. Avensus, a European firm offering managed information technology services, and security, storage and virtualisation solutions, had a turnover of $13 million in 2009. It caters to the banking, financial services and insurance, healthcare and government sectors.

Omnitech would now get Avensus’ 100-plus clients. Through this acquisition, it aims to achieve $30-35 million revenue growth from Europe by 2013-14. The current team of Avensus will be retained. The total staff strength of Omnitech will reach 1,100 globally.
