SITEL opens contact centre in Hyderabad

SITEL India Limited, an ITeS company, has announced the opening of its contact centre in Hyderabad. The company plans to hire 1,000 people initially, and is also considering setting up a campus in the city.
Addressing the media, Safir Adeni, chief executive officer of SITEL India, said, "We have already recruited 297 people in Hyderabad and our initial target is to have 1,000 people at this centre within the next couple of quarters."
SITEL India is a 50:50 joint venture between the billion-dollar SITEL Corporation, a global provider of outsourced customer support services, and the Tata Group.
Apart from the centre in Hyderabad, the company has two centres in Mumbai employing 2,000 people. The company expects to double its manpower by the end of December this year.
"We chose Hyderabad because of its huge talent pool, cost-effectiveness, infrastructure and supportive local government," Adeni said, adding that the Andhra Pradesh government had approached them for setting up a campus in Hyderabad and they were still considering it.
"We have already made investments of around Rs 30 crore in Hyderabad and will make more investments in future," Adeni said. The Hyderabad centre will focus on BFSI and telecom sectors initially and service more verticals gradually.
