| Sonus Networks, the $171 million US-based supplier of Voice over IP (VoIP) infrastructure to long distance carriers, has set up its development unit and regional support centre in Bangalore. |
| The India centre will concentrate on development of VoIP applications, specifically, software design and quality assurance services in support of Sonus' product portfolio. |
| The centre will employ 50 professionals in the first year with plans to ramp this upto 100 by two years time. |

| Sonus' expansion in India will extend its current engineering development and customer support centres in the US and UK and complements its customer support centre in Japan. |
