| To cater to the demand for high-speed broadband services such as Internet Protocol (IP) TV and quad play services increases globally, Tech Mahindra and Evolved Networks have introduced a solution that provides access networks (last-mile connectivity) to wireline telecom service providers and cable operators. The service can be implemented for anywhere between $5 million to $70 million depending on the size of the telcom operator. "This is a logical expansion of our offerings from the Business Support System (BSS) and Operation Support System (OSS) verticals to the network as we address the infrastructure between the network and the OSS," Dr J Gowri Krishna, vice president, network design and engineering, Tech Mahindra, said. "The access market segment is a $15 billion market globally as telecommunication companies look at upgrading and updating their existing access network infrastructure," Eric Gries, chief executive officer, Evolved Networks, said. |
