| Xerox Global Services (XGS), part of Xerox India, is aiming at becoming the single service provider interface for document management services outsourcing in the country. The XGS division, which provides consulting and outsourcing services to enterprises, is looking at building strong partnerships with the top 100 large Indian enterprises for managing their document outsourcing needs. "The document management outsourcing market in India is growing at a fast clip. At present, documents consume approximately 50% of the IT budget, and around 4.7 trillion documents are being churned out per day in the country. This represents an enormous opportunity for XGS. Our focus during the current year would be to acquire the top 100 large Indian enterprises and work towards capturing a huge pie of this market," Ravi Venkatraman, director, XGS said. XGS will also more than double the headcount from the present 120 in the next six to eight months, he added. On the division's plans for south India, he said the company would be tapping the ITeS sector in Hyderabad and Bangalore, and the manufacturing industries in Chennai. "We will hire a team of six dedicated experts to grow XGS' business in these identified verticals. Alongside, we will roll out an educational outreach campaign to raise awareness about the benefits of document management outsourcing and engage with 40 chief financial officers (CFOs) of large enterprises in south India by the year end," he said. Xerox today launched Xerox DocuShare 5.0, an electronic content management (ECM) software targeted at medium and large enterprises in the Andhra Pradesh market. The software offers document management and image capture capabilities that increase personal productivity and improve operational efficiency of organisations. The company is offering this software in two versions -- Xerox DocuShare 5.0 (standard) and Xerox DocuShare CPX 5.0 (advanced). XGS currently has over 70 large enterprises as its clients including global companies like Nokia, Microsoft, Boeing and HSBC. Its clients in south India include Sun Microsystems, EMC and the Karnataka High Court. |
