In what could come as a relief to many exports across the country, the Gujarat High Court on Monday held that the implementation of amendment to Section 80 HHC of the Income tax Act, 1961 cannot be made effective in retrospect. General secretary of the Textile Labour Association said mills such as Arvind, Ankur, Ashima and Asarwa had been positive on offering interim relief and they would negotiate for the 40 per cent wage hike later. On June 4, around 200 workers at Arvind&rsquo;s Naroda plant went on strike.
