Actress Nina Dobrev has penned an emotional farewell note to "Vampire Diaries", as the one of American TV's most popular shows is heading for its finale.
	The 28-year-old actress, who essayed the role of Elena/Katherine on the supernatural-adventure series, poured her heart on Instagram.
	"Dearest TVD family, It feels like it was just yesterday that I was saying goodbye. And yet two years have passed and here we are again. This is my true final goodbye, as today I shot my last scene of the Vampire Diaries forever," Dobrev wrote, alongside a picture of the gift she had got custom made for the crew by The Giving Keys.

A semi-decomposed body of a small-time local actress of the Bengali entertainment industry was today recovered from her flat in the southern part of the city's Kasba area, police said.
	Bitasta Saha's semi-decomposed body was found hanging from the ceiling of her flat in Kasba area, they said.
	After repeated phone calls went unanswered for almost two days, her mother visited the flat today where she used to stay alone.
	When Bitasta did not open the door after several knocks, her mother and neighbours informed police.
	Police broke the door and found the actress's body hanging from the ceiling, a police officer said.
	It was learnt that one of Bitasta's wrist was slit and there were several injury marks on her body too.
	"Going by the preliminary signs it seems that she committed suicide. However, we are waiting for the postmortem report. The body appeared to be two-day-old and there was a bit of stench in the room," he said.

	Though he said social media is the need of the hour, it cannot change the fate of the film if "the subject is bad".
	"Social media is important but it doesn't deserve the importance it is being given. If the subject is bad, it is useless.
	"People talk about one million hits two million hits but it doesn't translate into anything. You don't spend anything to watch a trailer, it's free. Social media is not at all responsible for a success," he said.
	The actor was speaking at Mumbai Press Club's Knowledge Series on 'Makeover of Marathi Cinema'.

Pop icon Madonna has been granted permission to adopt two more kids, twin girls, from Malawi after it was reported that she had applied for adoption.
	The singer, who already has two children from the African country- David, adopted in 2006 and Mercy, adopted in 2009, apparently appeared in court in Lilongwe last month after filing her application.
	The country's High Court made the ruling today and the Malawian judiciary spokesman Mlenga Mvula said the 58-year-old diva was inside the court when the ruling was given, reported BBC.
	"In fact, at the time we were granting her the permission she was in the courtroom with her lawyers," Mvula said.
	However, less than two weeks ago Madonna denied reports that she had applied to adopt any more children, during a charity visit to Malawi.
	"The rumours of an adoption process are untrue. I am in Malawi to check on the children's hospital in Blantyre and my other work with Raising Malawi and then heading home," she said at the time.

'Judwaa 2' first look: Varun recreates Salman's magic

To revive the ailing Assamese film sector, Finance Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma today proposed a slew of incentives, including 50 per cent exemption on entertainment tax, in the Budget for 2017-18.
	"There is a general criticism that modern cinema halls like multiplexes are not very keen to screen Assamese or regional films. In order to encourage exhibition of local films, I propose to grant 50 per cent entertainment tax exemption," Sarma said in his Budget speech.
	The tax rebate will be available for a period of three years to permanent multiplexes, which have commenced or will commence their commercial operation during specified period, he added.
	"There is, however, a condition. They have to give a written undertaking to the effect that they will show Assamese or regional film in one of the screens, if such Assamese or regional film is available for screening at a particular point of time," Sarma said while presenting the Budget estimates.

Six PG Diploma courses of Film and Television Institute of India (FTII) have been equated with Master's Degree by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU).
	"The Master's Degree equivalence launches FTII into a new academic orbit and introduces a new dimension for students who can now leverage this attribute for higher studies, in India and abroad," an official release by the Information and Broadcasting Ministry said.
	The Pune-based FTII had been making efforts since 2011 for securing the Master's Degree status for its programmes.
	The six programmes, which are of two and three years' duration, are Cinematography, Editing, Direction and Screenplay Writing, Sound Recording and Sound Design, Art Direction and Production Design, and Acting.
	A four-member committee from AIU had recently visited FTII and was briefed by the Heads of Department and Faculty members.
	The committee also visited the academic locations as well as technical facilities and met student representatives on the

Actor Diljit Dosanjh, who has teamed up with Anushka Sharma for "Phillauri," says he admires that the actress-producer is backing innovative concepts.
	This is Anushka's second production venture after "NH10". The actress has produced the movie with brother Karnesh Sharma under her banner Clean Slate Films.
	"Before meeting Anushka, I admired that how she is having her own production house. I haven't yet produced a film. She is the youngest producer, she has a lot of guts to produce unconventional stories like 'NH10', 'Phillauri' . I respect her a lot for this," Diljit told PTI.
