To bring in transparency, the AIIMS Delhi administration has decided to create dashboards for allotment of accommodation and booking of various meeting venues and guest houses. According to an office memorandum issued by AIIMS Director M Srinivas, it has come to the notice that a proper system for institutional accommodation allotment and booking of various venues and guest houses is not in place and there is a lack of communication and coordination among different sections. "As the institute is committed to promoting good governance in its policies and functioning and to bring in transparency in the system of booking accommodation and handling logistics, it is proposed that a dashboard should be created for the purpose," the memorandum issued on Monday read. The AIIMS has issued a memorandum allowing contractors empanelled with MES, railways and other central PSUs to participate in the tendering process for increasing transparency and competition in their engineering contracts. To increase confidence amongst prospective bidders, the engineering contracting system will also be modified. One team of engineers will prepare the estimates and finalise the tender while the other team will monitor the execution of the contract and make payment to the contractors in a timely manner, the memorandum issued on April 27 stated. The health condition of Union Minister G Kishan Reddy was stable and he was under observation at the AIIMS, hospital authorities said on Monday. Reddy, the minister for culture, tourism and development of north eastern region, was admitted to the premier All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Sunday night after he complained of upper abdominal discomfort. Nepal's President Ramchandra Paudel has been discharged from a hospital in New Delhi after undergoing treatment for a chest-related ailment and he will return to Kathmandu on Sunday night, the President's Office said. Paudel, 78, was airlifted to India on April 19 for treatment at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, (AIIMS), New Delhi, after he complained of shortness of breath. "President Paudel is flying back to Kathmandu on Sunday through the regular flight of Nepal Airlines after he was discharged from the hospital following his successful treatment," the President's Office said in a statement here. Nepal President Ramchandra Paudel on Wednesday was airlifted to India for treatment after he was admitted to a hospital here for the second time within a month after he complained of shortness of breath, his press aide said. Paudel, 78, was admitted to TU Teaching Hospital here on Tuesday. A preliminary investigation has revealed that he had a chest infection. The Union government had in September 2020 granted approval for the AIIMS at Darbhanga, the second in Bihar after Patna, at an estimated cost of Rs 1,264 crore. "An amount of Rs 309.29 crore for the construction of AIIMS on 189.17 acres of land at Darbhanga was sanctioned by the state cabinet chaired by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. The fund will be utilised for soil filling and land levelling work," S Siddharth, Additional Chief Secretary (Cabinet Secretariat), told reporters on Tuesday. Amid rising COVID-19 cases, a nationwide mock drill to take stock of hospital preparedness will be held on April 10 and 11 in which both public and private facilities are expected to participate. Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya will visit AIIMS, Jhajjar on April 10 to oversee the mock drill, officials said on Sunday. In a review meeting held on April 7, Mandaviya had urged state health ministers to visit hospitals and oversee the mock drills. He had also advised them to review the preparedness with district administrations and health officials on April 8 and 9. AIIMS-Delhi will launch 'Mission Recruitment' to achieve near-zero vacancies by September 2023. Director of AIIMS-Delhi Dr M Srinivas, in an office memorandum, said it is noted that a few sanctioned posts at the premium institute are currently vacant. "To enhance coordination between the examination section, recruitment cell and faculty cell, and to ensure timely filling-up of existing and new vacancies, it has been decided to launch 'Mission Recruitment' at AlIMS, New Delhi," the memorandum issued on April 5 said. Under this mission, AIIMS-New Delhi shall target to achieve a "near-zero" vacancy position by September 2023, it said. For this purpose, Professor Rajiv Narang has been designated as the chief coordinating Officer and shall be responsible for actively following up on the vacancy status and the action being taken thereof with the faculty cell, recruitment cell and examination section. An action-taken report shall be submitted on a weekly basis, the memorandum stated.
