In a letter to State Health Minister Satya Kumar Yadav, the Ministry of Health highlighted that collaborating with the private sector is the fastest way to bridge gaps in medical demand and expand service delivery across the state. The Centre urged Andhra Pradesh to extensively adopt the PPP model to accelerate healthcare expansion and improve availability, quality, and efficiency of services, said an official release on Wednesday. The Ministry suggested implementing PPP in rural and semi-urban areas, focussing on nuclear medicine, mobile units, dental clinics, radiology services, and cancer day care centres. It proposed an approach where private partners are engaged for 5 to 10 years. In a relief to Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, a local court in Vijayawada has closed a case filed against him over his alleged involvement in the misappropriation of funds from the Andhra Pradesh State Skill Development Corporation, which, according to the case, caused a loss of over Rs 300 crore to the state exchequer. Naidu had spent more than 50 days in the Rajamahendravaram Central Prison before the Andhra Pradesh High Court granted him bail on October 31, 2023. Andhra Pradesh Advocate General Dammalapati Srinivas said the investigating agency found no involvement of the Chief Minister and accordingly filed a memo in the court, which was accepted by the judicial officer. "After completing the investigation, the agency filed a closure report stating that there was no substance in the case regarding Naidu's role. The court accepted it on Monday," Srinivas told PTI. Naidu was arrested in the case on September 9, 2023, when YSRCP chief Jagan Mohan Reddy was the chief minister.

The 57th CRDA meeting headed by Chief Minister N Chandrababu Nadu on Tuesday ratified over 700 jobs in the authority, approved extending welfare pensions to orphans in the capital region and the development of a marina by Krishna river. The approved posts in the Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA) pertain to various cadres and if needed the government will fill these posts from outside the ranks of government officials also. "The CRDA approved the ratification of 754 posts in CRDA," said an official press release, detailing the decisions. As beneficiaries below 18 years of age are not eligible for welfare pensions, the CRDA has decided to relax this restriction in the case of seven minor orphans in the greenfield capital region, who are expected to receive Rs 5,000 as monthly pension. The APERC said the state government has come forward to pay Rs 4,500 crore worth true-up dues to power distribution companies in an "effort to avoid hardship to end consumers". True-up dues encompass accumulated gaps in revenue and costs, and this quantum of Rs 4,500 crore reportedly pertains to the previous YSRCP regime between 2019 and 2024. The Expert Appraisal Committee under the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change has given its nod to the Andhra Pradesh government to prepare Terms of Reference for constructing seven water aerodromes in the state, including one in Visakhapatnam, official sources said. The Andhra Pradesh government on Tuesday said it has set a revenue target of over Rs 10,000 crore for its Registration and Stamps Department for the fiscal year 2025-26. Andhra Pradesh has extended a government guarantee and a letter of comfort to the Capital Region Development Authority for availing a Rs 7,500 crore loan to develop the greenfield capital city of Amaravati, said an official. S Suresh Kumar, principal secretary, Municipal Administration and Urban Development, said the guarantee and the letter of comfort for the loan from the National Bank for Financing Infrastructure and Development (NaBFID) came with conditions such as the Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA) meeting the debt servicing obligations from its own resources and others. YSRCP supremo YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on Sunday alleged that Andhra Pradesh's fiscal indicators reflect "weakness" pointing to the Comptroller and Auditor General's (CAG) data for the first half of FY 2025-26.
