'Red diary conspiracy' hatched at BJP headquarters: Rajasthan CM Gehlot

Launching a scathing attack on the BJP, Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on Thursday alleged that the "red diary conspiracy" was hatched at the saffron party's headquarters. He also claimed that the BJP has no moral right to be in power as it "toppled" elected governments. "The 'lal diary' conspiracy, which has got fused, was hatched at the BJP headquarters," he said. The 'red diary' was allegedly possessed by sacked minister Rajendra Gudha, who had claimed that it contained financial transactions of the chief minister. Gehlot sacked Gudha in July after he criticised his own government in the assembly over crimes against women when the violence in BJP-run Manipur was being discussed. The Rajasthan chief minister also alleged that Amit Shah, Dharmendra Pradhan and Gajendra Singh Shekhawat had conspired to topple his government, apparently referring to the 2020 political crisis stemming from the rebellion of Sachin Pilot and 18 other Congress MLAs. MoS slams CM Gehlot for objecting to V-P Dhankhar's Rajasthan visits

Union Minister of State for External Affairs V Muraleedharan on Friday said Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot's objection to Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar's "frequent" visits to Rajasthan reflects he is not interested in the state's development. Noting that Dhankar is the "son of Rajasthan" and of a farmer, Muraleedharan said the visits by the President and Vice President will benefit any state and there is no politics in it. "I am surprised why the chief minister here is objecting to such issue. It reflects that the chief minister is not interested in development and progress of the state," Muraleedharan told the media on the sidelines of inauguration of Rajasthan's second and country's 37th regional passport office in Kota. Gehlot should welcome the vice president warmly, instead of objecting to his frequent visits, he added. The senior Congress leader had said in a rally on Thursday, "Yesterday, the Vice President came and visited five districts. What is the logic? Elections are to

Addressing the National Conference of Nursing Council at Birla Auditorium here, Gehlot said everyone in the nation should get social security along with health services and education, adding that there should be no shortage of water and electricity. He added that India will become a global leader only when "hunger and malnutrition will end in our country", asserting that "the 'Right to Social Security Act' should be implemented at the Centre. Referring to other welfare schemes, including gas cylinder for Rs 500, 100 units of free electricity and Annapurna food kit to poor families, Gehlot said they were not needed if the right to social security was made a law in the country.
