RJD chief Lalu Prasad on Thursday said he will travel to Bengaluru for the meeting of the opposition parties on July 17-18. Speaking to reporters at the Patna airport before leaving for Delhi, he said he will go to Bengaluru for preparing the ground for ousting the Narendra Modi government from the Centre in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. "I am going to Delhi for my routine medical examination, including blood tests. After that I will come back to Patna, and then go to Bangaluru for the meeting of the opposition parties, and also for preparing the ground for the ouster of the Modi government from the Centre in the 2024 Lok Sabha polls," he said. The second meeting of the 'like-minded' opposition parties will be held in Bengaluru on July 17-18. The first meeting was held in Patna on June 23.

Toshiba secures contract from Bengaluru water supply body to manage STPs

Toshiba Water Solutions Private Limited on Tuesday announced it has received a contract from Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB) for design, upgradation, rehabilitation with capacity augmentation. The firm, a subsidiary of Toshiba Infrastructure Systems & Solutions Corporation (TISS), has also secured the contract for operation and maintenance services of three sewage treatment plants (STPs). The agreement is also for the upgradation and rehabilitation of five STPs in Bengaluru. Toshiba Water Solutions chairperson and managing director Hiroaki Kobayashi said that after receiving the contract for TK Halli Water Treatment Plant in 2020, these are the company's second set of contracts with BWSSB. 250 Indira Canteens to come up in Bengaluru city, says Karnataka CM

Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Monday instructed officials to start at least 250 Indira Canteens, which provide subsidised food, with one outlet for each ward of Bengaluru. Over 1,500 people stuck at station in Bengaluru following train mishap

More than 1,500 passengers including a large number of labourers are stranded at the Byappanahalli Railway Station here due to the cancelled trains as a fallout of the train derailment in Odisha.
