UP BJP issues showcause notice to MLA Nand Kishore Gurjar over remarks

Uttar Pradesh BJP chief Bhupendra Singh Chaudhary on Sunday issued a show cause notice to party MLA from Ghaziabad's Loni seat Nand Kishore Gurjar for alleged indiscipline following his outburst against the state government. A statement by BJP state general secretary Govind Narayan Shukla said that state BJP president Bhupendra Singh Chaudhary has asked the MLA to respond within seven days on why disciplinary action should not be taken against him. The show cause notice to Gurjar said "that for some time now, you have been criticising the government in public places and your statements and actions are hurting the party's reputation which comes under the category of indiscipline." Laxmi Nagar MLA Abhay Verma appointed BJP chief whip in Delhi Assembly

Laxmi Nagar MLA Abhay Verma was on Tuesday appointed the ruling BJP's chief whip in the Delhi Assembly. His appointment was made in a meeting of the BJP Legislative Party in the presence of the party's Delhi unit president Virendra Sachdeva. Chief Minister Rekha Gupta and other BJP MLAs were present at the meeting. "During the meeting, discussions were held about the appointment of a chief whip to ensure the smooth functioning of the Legislative Party. All MLAs present decided to entrust this decision to Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva," said the Delhi BJP in a statement. BJP govt to present first Delhi budget on March 25 during assembly session

The new BJP government in Delhi will table its maiden budget on March 25 during the assembly's five-day budget session. A bulletin issued by the Delhi Assembly Secretariat said the five-day session would begin on March 24. The budget will be presented on March 25 and a general discussion on it held on March 26. The budget will be passed on March 27. The last day of the session is reserved for private member bills and resolutions. The budget will be presented by Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, who also holds the finance portfolio. The assembly will convene at 11 am every day during the session. 'Painful': Baluni raises speculation over Agarwal's removal from Cabinet

Speculation over Premchand Agarwal's possible removal from the Uttarakhand Cabinet has gained further traction after the BJP's chief spokesperson Anil Baluni described as "painful and unfortunate" the minister's recent outburst in the assembly against people from the hill areas. Delhi PWD minister Parvesh Verma on Thursday said that a probe will be conducted into why CCTV cameras were not installed in eight constituencies represented by BJP MLAs during the previous AAP government. Speaking in the Delhi Assembly, Verma said CCTV cameras will be installed on priority in the eight constituencies. BJP had eight seats and the AAP had 62 seats in the last assembly. Raising the issue in the House, BJP's Vishwas Nagar MLA OP Sharma said not even one CCTV camera was installed in his constituency during previous AAP government. He demanded a Central Vigilance Commission (CVC) probe in the matter. First session of Delhi's 8th Assembly begins post BJP's return to power

The first session of the newly constituted Delhi Assembly commenced on Monday, marking the BJP's return to power after 26 years and its shift to the right side of the Speaker's chair. BJP MLA Arvinder Singh Lovely was sworn-in as the pro-tem Speaker and administered the oath by Lieutenant Governor Vinai Kumar Saxena at the Raj Niwas before the session began.
