SINGAPORE (Reuters) - The front-month Singapore 180-centistoke (cst) high-sulphur fuel oil refining margin climbed to a record high for a second time this month on Tuesday, boosted by tightening global supply and falling crude oil market prices.
Stocks hovered in negative zone in morning trade weighed by lower Asian stocks. At 10:16 IST, the barometer index, the S&P BSE Sensex, was down 88.26 points or 0.25% at 35,686.62. The Nifty 50 index was down 38.75 points or 0.36% at 10,724.65.
Shares of technology issue declined after tech giant Apple's shares fell overnight on reports that the company slashed production orders for all three of the iPhone models that were unveiled in September. Altium lost more than 7%, while Afterpay Touch Group declined more than 4% and Computershare was down more than 2%.
Nissan Motor Co was the most-traded stock by turnover and tumbled 6.5% after Nissan said Ghosn had been arrested over alleged financial misconduct and would be fired from the board this week. Nissan said an internal investigation, triggered by a tip-off from a whistleblower, had revealed that Ghosn engaged in wrongdoing including personal use of company money and under-reporting his earnings for years.
Kridhan Infra rose 12.03% to Rs 51.70 at 10:19 IST on BSE after the company said its Singapore subsidiary won an order worth Rs 195 crore.
Hindalco Industries Ltd has added 0.73% over last one month compared to 2.1% fall in S&P BSE Metal index and 3.89% rise in the SENSEX
GAIL (India) Ltd has lost 0.45% over last one month compared to 4.09% gain in S&P BSE Oil&Gas index and 3.91% rise in the SENSEX
