Eatigo receives investment worth USD 25 Mn from TripAdvisor

Restaurant reservation platform in Southeast Asia Eatigo on Monday announced receiving of a follow-on investment from its existing strategic investor, TripAdvisor.With an investment worth USD 25 million, the pre series C investment for Eatigo comes as TripAdvisor's restaurants business unit and its subsidiary, TheFork, look to help expand Eatigo's presence and services across the Asia Pacific region.On the heels of a successful entry into Hong Kong, the Philippines, Malaysia and India in 2017, Eatigo will use the funds to launch in several more markets and extend its product offering. NMCE settles July commodity contract through eNWR

Commodity bourse NMCE today said it has for the first time settled delivery obligation, under the July contract, by issuing electronic negotiable warehouse receipts (e-NWR) offered by the National E-Repository Ltd. As on July 14, the exchange has issued 517 eNWR. Of these, 397 have been settled in Kerala for the rubber July contract, the NMCE and NERL said in a joint statement. "The contract settlement through eNWR is hassle free and convenient to market participants. Warehousing regulatory environment will help bring more participation in commodity exchanges as compared to transacting in physical warehouse receipts," NERL CEO and Managing Director Kedar Deshpande said. Going forward, all clients and depositors of NMCE keen to deliver and receive the commodities will have to mandatorily open a client repository account with NERL. eNWR allows transfer of ownership of a commodity stored in a warehouse without having to deliver the physical commodity. Airbus strikes deals in China, India amid Brexit concerns

European aerospace giant Airbus announced deals with Chinese, Indian and Taiwanese airlines today, kicking off the Farnborough airshow in Britain on an upbeat note despite concerns about the effects of Brexit. China's Sichuan Airlines said it will be buying 10 A350 long-haul planes with a list price of USD 2.8 billion (2.4 billion euros), while India's Vistara signed a letter of intent to purchase 13 single-aisle A320neo aircraft. Taiwan's Starlux Airlines, which is developing a network across Asia and North America, said it had signed a memorandum of understanding for the purchase of 17 Airbus planes -- 12 A350-1000s and five A350-900s. The Airbus deals announced at Farnborough, southwest of London, would add up to more than USD 17 billion at catalogue price for the planes if all orders are confirmed and prior to large discounts traditionally handed to purchasers.
