Chennai-based Shrinithi Capital aims to double AUM to Rs 600 cr by 2024

Shrinithi Capital Pvt Ltd engaged in commercial vehicle and two-wheeler loans aims to double its total assets under management to Rs 600 crore by 2024, a top official said on Saturday. The Chennai-headquartered firm currently has assets under management of Rs 300 crore. Under its expansion drive, Shrinithi Capital Pvt Ltd has planned to strengthen foot prints in southern parts of the country. "Shrinithi's rapid ascent in the industry, coupled with exemplary collection figures even during challenging times, has garnered attention across the sector. As part of our expansion process, we plan to open 30 more branches in South India and aim to double our AUM from Rs 300 crore to Rs 600 crore by 2024," company managing director and CEO S Sellamani said in a statement. Pedestrian-friendly roads, smart classes, parks for disabled children, cycling tracks, an intelligent traffic system and rejuvenating water bodies are some of the projects undertaken by authorities in Chennai to transform it under the Smart Cities Mission, according to officials. Fortis Hospitals to sell Malar Hospital in Chennai for Rs 45.5 cr

Fortis Malar Hospitals Ltd on Friday said it will sell Malar Hospital at Gandhi Nagar in Chennai for Rs 45.5 crore to MGM Healthcare Pvt Ltd. The company has signed a definitive agreement for the sale of its business operations pertaining to Malar Hospital at Gandhi Nagar, Adyar, Chennai, to MGM Healthcare (MGM), a prominent healthcare delivery service provider, Fortis Malar Hospitals Ltd said in a regulatory filing. The sale consideration is about Rs 45.5 crore, it added. Adjunct to this transaction, the OPD and radio diagnostics business operations related to the Malar Hospital, including the land and building, and the adjacent land parcels, are also being divested by two wholly owned subsidiaries of Fortis Healthcare Ltd -- Fortis Health Management Ltd, and Hospitalia Eastern Pvt Ltd -- to MGM, it added. Ericsson announces setting up 6G research and development centre in Chennai

Swedish telecom gear maker Ericsson on Saturday announced setting up a 6G research and development centre in Chennai. Ericsson is also looking to partner with other premier engineering institutes in India for 6G-related research. "This R&D centre in India is a small unit which will become bigger. We only have three in the world. One in Sweden, second in the US and the third one in India. They are all cooperating in 6G-based research," Ericsson, Head of Market Area Southeast Asia, Oceania, and India, Nunzio Mirtillo said at India Mobile Congress. Ericsson's rival Nokia has already set up a 6G lab in Bangalore about two weeks back. Nokia achieves 7 mn telecom gear production milestone at Chennai plant

Finnish telecom company Nokia on Thursday said its Chennai plant has achieved the production milestone of 7 million telecom network gear units. The company started the plant 15 years ago and is one of the largest factories of Nokia globally. "Nokia's factory in Chennai has reached a significant production milestone by reaching seven million telecom units. The factory has completed fifteen years of operation this year and is playing a key role in boosting telecom equipment manufacturing in the country," Nokia said. The factory manufactures 5G New Radio (5G NR), 5G massive MIMO products, 4G or the LTE radios as well as fiber broadband equipment among others. Nokia exports approximately 50 per cent of the production. "Further, it (Nokia) has progressively increased the localization of components by up to 2 times compared to previous years in 5G equipment manufacturing," the statement said. Technical issue affects outbound international services at Chennai airport

A server problem led to disruption in services at the International Departure at the city airport here on Wednesday, affecting 9 outbound services and about 1,500 international passengers, officials said. The technical issue that was noticed around 1.30 am was fixed by 6 am, they said.
