'Spent 90 days in Pak': Delhi Police arrests Rajasthan man for espionage

The Delhi Police has arrested a man from Rajasthan for allegedly aiding Pakistani Intelligence Operatives (PIOs) by supplying Indian mobile SIM cards for espionage activities, officials said on Thursday. The accused, identified as Kasim (34), had travelled to Pakistan twice -- first in August 2024 and again in March 2025 -- and stayed there for about 90 days, they said. During his visits, he is suspected to have met officials of the Pakistan's spy agency Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), a senior police officer said. Kasim, a resident of Gangora village in Deeg district, was apprehended earlier in the day and is currently in police remand, the officer said. "In September 2024, the Special Cell received intelligence inputs that Indian mobile numbers were being misused by PIOs to gather sensitive information related to the Indian Army and government establishments. These mobile SIM cards were allegedly procured in India and sent across the border with the help of Indian nationals,"

Delhi Police cracks down on illegal narcotic medicines racket, 1 arrested

A team of Anti Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) of Delhi Police in South West District arrested one drug peddler and seized a total 83090 tablets of banned pharma drugs (Alprazolam & Zolpidem) and 26,000 packets of prohibited foreign cigarettes from Mehram Nagar area of Delhi Cantt, police said on Wednesday.According to a statement, the crackdown on the prohibited narcotics medicine unfolded when Delhi police received credible information regarding certain international cargo courier service operators in the Mehram Nagar area who are involved in supplying these medicines and imported cigarettes.The information revealed that the peddlers have set up a few godowns in the Mehram Nagar area where these prohibited items are being stored.The ANTF team of Delhi police led further investigation and identified the suspect's location in Mehram Nagar. Delhi Police is formulating a multi-pronged strategy to tackle the rising cases of digital arrest frauds, which includes setting up a centralised complaint mechanism and compiling a database of gangs involved in such crimes, officials said on Saturday. EOW arrests Delhi builder for siphoning off crores from private bank

The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of Delhi Police has arrested a real estate developer for allegedly cheating and siphoning off crores of rupees from a private bank, police said on Monday. The accused, Anil Mithas (52), a resident of Noida, is the director and majority stakeholder of a real estate group, the police said. The private bank had sanctioned loans of Rs 100 crore and Rs 65 crore in 2016 and 2017 for the construction of projects in Noida and Gurgaon by M/s Unnati Fortune Holding Limited (UFHL). However, it was found that Mithas had allegedly misrepresented facts and siphoned off the loan amount. In 2019, M/s Nupur Finvest Pvt Ltd, a financial creditor, approached the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT), alleging that UFHL had mortgaged the same 75 flats with them and later with the private bank. The NCLT initiated insolvency proceedings and appointed an Insolvency Resolution Professional (IRP), who ordered an audit of UFHL. The audit allegedly revealed major financial .

Six pistols, 60+ bullets seized from Delhi Metro in 2 years: RTI reply

In a concerning revelation about security in the capital's Metro network, the Delhi Police recovered 16 bullets, 31 cartridges and 14 live cartridges across various stations in the city over two years and three months during their vigilance operations, an RTI response has revealed. Furthermore, the Delhi Police's Metro Unit has also recovered six pistols, including five country-made ones, during its security checks across the city's Metro network during the period, it revealed. According to the data revealed by the RTI, till March 15 this year, the Metro unit of the Delhi Police had seized seven cartridges during its operations. The police also recovered one country-made pistol, it mentioned. In 2024, the police seized 12 bullets, eight cartridges and four live cartridges. It also recovered four pistols, including three country-made ones, during the year, the RTI revealed.
