Meanwhile, Emirates Airways said the aircraft was diverted to Chennai airport due to "technical reasons" and the officials were in the process of rebooking the flight to final destination. "Due to technical reasons the flight has diverted to Chennai. We are in the process of rebooking the flight to final destination and will send updated itinerary shortly", the airline said. Albanian authorities say that heavy rain has caused flooding in more parts of country, with landslides damaging many roads. The defense ministry said Thursday that about 2,800 hectares (6,900 acres) of agricultural land and grasslands in the north-west have now been flooded. The heavy rain has obliged three hydropower stations in the north to release excess water after many rivers, including the main Drini River, swelled. A Thai national, who was among the 23 seamen rescued from the container ship of Maersk Line that caught fire in the Arabian Sea off the Lakshadweep coast, has died, the Directorate General of Shipping (DGS) said today. A search was on for the other four missing crew members, including one Indian, a Coast Guard official said. Fire continued to rage in the Singapore-flagged Maersk Honam, a 330-metre long vessel, where a massive blaze erupted on Tuesday night, forcing its 27 crew members to jump out into the sea waters. Among the 27 crew members 13 were Indians, including the captain, nine Filipinos, two Thai sailors, and one each from the UK, Romania and South Africa. While 23 crew members were rescued, one of them, a Thai sailor, died of burn injuries while being taken to Colombo, a DGS official said. An auto-rickshaw driver was killed after a car, driven by a minor, rammed into the three-wheeler on Kasturba Gandhi Marg early today, the police said. The car was being driven by a 17-year-old boy, who was accompanied by his friends, also minors. Police said the friends had come to Connaught Place for a spin. The Maruti Ciaz car belonged to the teenager's uncle, who is also likely to be booked for giving his car keys to a minor. According to the police, the teenager jumped a traffic signal and rammed into the auto-rickshaw at a turn between KG Marg and Tolstoy Marg. The three-wheeler driver, Shiv Shankar Mahato, 66, a resident of Mata Sundri Road, was thrown several metres in the air as a result of the collision and died on the spot. A head-on collision between two cars in northwest Pakistan today killed six people, including a woman and a child. The passenger car was on its way to Dir district from the mountainous Chitral district in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa when it collided with another car near Ayun area and fell into a river, police said.
