Indian Navy successfully carries out test-fire of naval anti-ship missile

The Indian Navy on Wednesday successfully carried out the maiden test firing of the first indigenously developed naval anti-ship missile from a Seaking helicopter, officials said. The test was conducted at the Integrated Test Range (ITR) in Odisha's Balasore. "This firing is a significant step towards achieving self-reliance in niche missile technology and reaffirms the Indian Navy's commitment to indigenisation," said a senior Navy official. The Indian Navy carried out the test in association with the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO). On Twitter, the Indian Navy released a brief video of the Seaking 42B helicopter firing the missile. The test-firing of the new missile came over a month after an anti-ship version of the BrahMos supersonic cruise missile was successfully test-fired jointly by the Indian Navy and the Andaman and Nicobar Command. Flight control system integration facility for DRDO built in 45 days: L&T

Larsen & Toubro (L&T) on Monday said that it has constructed a seven-storey state-of-the-art flight control system integration facility for the Defence Research and Development Organization in just 45 days. The facility was inaugurated on March 17 by defence minister Rajnath Singh. "The buildings business of Larsen & Toubro has set a record by constructing the 7-storey, state-of-the-art Flight Control System (FCS) integration facility for the Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO) in just 45 days using Integrated Hybrid Modular Construction Technology (IHMCT)," the company said in a statement. This facility shows that India can build anything in a short span of time, DRDO Chairman G Satheesh Reddy said. The project commenced on February 1, 2022, and the building has been constructed on 1,30,000 sq feet.
